Community Engagement

The owners of Turtle Bay Resort have made a commitment to the community, and in particular to the Kahuku, Ko‘olau Loa and North Shore communities, to revive and enhance the resort with input from our neighbors. To that end, we have held more than 115 talk story sessions, large and small, over the last year. In this process we identified at least five key groups that have been invaluable for providing guidance and feedback through a series of meetings.

  • Kuilima North Shore Strategy Planning Committee
  • Ko‘olau Loa North Shore Alliance
  • Turtle Bay Resort Employee Group
  • Cultural Advisory Council
  • Kahuku Community Association

In addition, we initiated communication with the Ko‘olau Loa Neighborhood Board before we commenced planning and will keep it fully apprised as we continue through the supplemental environmental impact study (SEIS) process.

We are deeply committed to continuing consultations with these important stakeholder groups in addition to hosting public meetings and continuing our community engagement process through talk story sessions. This website is one more way to provide information and have a meaningful dialogue with the community and keep everyone up to date with new plans and relevant issues. It is our goal to be inclusive and transparent in our planning process. We also want to make it easy for you to share your thoughts with us.
