The Resort Master Plan presents the foundation for multi-disciplinary planning at Turtle Bay Resort, including land use, recreation, public access, transportation, utilities, agriculture, open space, resource management, historic preservation and cultural awareness. Implicit in our assumptions is that all development and resort activities that take place at Turtle Bay Resort should adhere to best practices with respect to environmental sustainability. This would include everything from construction methods to turf maintenance and from recycling to purchasing policies.
Similarly, we are not yet at the point of designing buildings, but when we do it will be critical to consider energy conservation strategies to reduce demands that might otherwise exist.
At the same time, we are going to continue to explore the viability of integrating alternative energy sources. New buildings can readily incorporate solar power. The ag lands might also accommodate alternative energy generation.
